Some of you may remember that Howie and I went on a cruise in February (a lifetime ago, really). Well, when we returned home, our luggage was delayed. No big deal, considering we were going home and had just about everything we needed.
However, we had heard from friends that, depending on the credit card we have, we may be covered to purchase new "essential" items. Well, I wasn't going to let a free shopping spree pass me by, so we franctically researched what was involved.
To make a long story short, our Aerogold Visa (which we purchased our tickets on) covered us for $500 each for essentials. Even though most stores were closed (because it was a civic holiday in Toronto), we dragged the kids around the city looking for open stores and spent as much money as we possibly could before our luggage showed up at 5pm (which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be).
Two pairs of jeans, 3 lululemon shirts (and pants and shorts), 1 foundation, 1 hat, 1 cardigan and 2 GAP outfits later, we crossed our fingers and hoped we'd get our money back.
Anyway, I am proud to report (thanks to Howie's hard work) that we received a big fat cheque in the mail today for the full $827 we spent (we felt too guilty spending right up to $1,000).
So the next time your luggage is delayed...remember this story and go shopping!
