i'm sitting here grading finals and it's sooo boring! the good thing is that now i'll be writing on the blog. sorry i haven't done it in a while.
i worked my tuches off for this final - i actually made 4 different versions because i have so many different levels of apptitude in my class. i'm actually a little disappointed in realizing that some of my students are a lot lazier than i thought... alas, torah's only important if it doesn't conflict with studying for chemistry...
anyway, i'm in my last leg of this year's teaching journey... overall a good year. a lot more balanced than last year i would say. i'm pretty much keeping the same schedule next year, but staying a drop later so that i can teach a class after lunch as well. given the economy, i'm happy to still have a job. i'll also be teaching a whole new subject next year - jewish history. it was of my own volition - just trying to get some job security, so i figure that by teaching as many different types of subjects as possible, i'll be increasing my job opportunities at mizrachi (and potentially in a different venue if i'd like to leave/need to leave).
josh is safe for now... mike told him today. they 're in the midst of laying off about another 50-60 people from his department... it seems they're shutting down the entire m and a branch of the bank (do you all remember when josh was working for this department?) the amount of hashgacha pratit in his job so far has been incredible. we're sooo grateful.
so it's a really happy today for us. by the way - it's josh's birthday on mom and dad's anniversary - which is this thurs. i'm pretty sure you guys are reaching your 37th year - that's awesome!
missing you all,
dan
